What are the requirements of the assignment you are looking for research for? Start by thinking about how you would describe the topic and what you want to know about it. If you start with a very general term, you may get too many results. You add search terms to narrow the results further.
To search our library databases, you can start on our library databases page: https://library.an.edu/home/librarydatabases
Connect to the library through Canvas (then LIRN Library on the left menu bar), or make sure you are logged into Canvas before clicking the link above. It will authenticate you to be able to use the resources.
From there you can try a more general database, like ProQuest Central (click the ProQuest link, then scroll through until you see the ProQuest Central button).
You can also try any of the health or medicine-specific databases you see listed on that page.
Once you enter a database, you enter your search terms in the search box. Use keywords with the word AND between them to combine topics. For ex.: human and growth and stages
You can mix and match keywords until you find a search that works best for your topic. Don't use sentences or questions in library databases. They have a hard time interpreting them.
